It is great site. I'am working in the field of water and industrial wastewater treatement systems. I'am looking for an american anufacturer companies specially in the textile wastewater, chemical and petrochemical, metal finishing, food, etc... Thanks alot.
I belive the goverment should take care of the water pollution with out raising taxes to pay for it. We deserve clean healthy freash water and regular taxes. the goverment earns more then more money then any one else in the world, it wouldn't hurt to spend it on clearing up the ecosystem.
hi.
NICE SITE
Hey Guys, just trying to find a source for questions we have regarding our treatment system. We are a conventional activated sludge plant, 2.5 MGD. We are currently experiencing settling problems like never before, we are not loosing solids, sludge gives every indication of yound sludge, but trying to remedy it using tedhniques for young sludge doesn't help.We have some filaments and have chlorinated for those, but to be honest we have had them worse in the past and still settled.
i want information on on air pulltion for my school
im a student doing a project on the reuse of treated textile industry wastewate. i'd appreciate it if you could e-mail me about the facilities involved in the treatment and such. thank you

I'm an engineer with the City and County of Honolulu, Department of Environmental Services. My primary responsibilities is environmental compliance, especially as it applies to wastewater. One of my topics of interest is odor control. I'd like to "talk" to someone via email to understand how you all go about with odor control.
I think that water pollution is caused by everyday activites, start using bus to get around, so that less car pollution is caused. If it were to be that people need more water we'd need to use the oceans water, so keep it CLEAN!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanx
HELP! I need some notes about air pollution! Thank you! Thank you very much,my good friend!
Thanks so much for this website-it was hugely helpful. I used it for research that I am doing. Bye Joni Rochell James from Lake Roosevelt High School
Very interesting site. I wish more Wastewater Treatment facilities would create a webpage like this. I did see a couple of areas that I thought were typos you may want to confirm. Under Process Description it talked about the BIOLOGICAL OXYGEN DEMAND (BOD). Shouldn't this be BIOCHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND? Also Under the STREAM ECOLOGY section, it listed the Influent BOD of 80-150 mg/ml & Effluent BOD of 2 mg/ml. Shouldn't these units be expressed as mg/l?
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
I am a Magister Environmental Engineer from Dominican Republic (located on center of the Caribbean Sea) and I wishing you every happiness on Chritsmas Holiday and new year.

HI IAM A WASTEWATER OPERATOR LEVEL1 IN HOODRIVER OR 97031
Very informative
Interesting site. I am a former and part-time current resident of Skaneateles, and was pleased to learn about the positive things Cortland has contributed to our area and national history and current economic success. Until I visited this site, I was only familiar with Wickwire, Smith-Corona, and the college. Nice site. Is the outlet of the wastewater treatment facility adjacent to Route 11 just prior to Route 81 access? The area looks like a park, and if it is the outlet, you have done a good job in aiding the environment. I'll have to explore a bit next time I'm in the area.
I am a engineer civil, working in process optimization of wastewater treatment plant municipal, in São Paulo, Brasil. In this moment, I'm just here getting information and news ideas for creating a site for our plants. You've given me some good ideas. Thanks for all the information.Best Regards.

Good day, I am interning at Atlantic States Legal Foundation based in Syracuse, NY. I'm focusing on the Lake Onondaga clean-up program and cruised this site to gain info on other local clean-up/treatment programs currently in use and backed by Ogden Water Sytems and Yorkshire Water's. This was relatively informative yet in terms of HTML and JAVA design; one might want to consider avoiding the horizontal scrolling. I'm also interested in knowing of any current negotiations between Ogden and the city of Syracuse specs on their proposal in addition to the feasibility of oxygenating the lake without causing increased problems. If someone has time, a response to the above email address would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, - Brad
Nice picture of you plant.
I'm from Air Tek Science and I emailed you some info. on odor control Thank You
I would really like if you sent me so stuff on what is required to build a wastewater management plant. Thanks
I was introduced to the wonderful world of wastewater management at a very early age. My dad is Gary Conklin, one of the employees of this facility. I grew up around all of the machines and equipment, and even did sludge runs to the landfill (yipee!). I know that my dad loves his job because it lets him putter around at different things, but I have one request. I would really love it if I could have just one weekend when I visit him that he doesn't get paged a million times to call in or to go in to work. I guess it comes with the territory. Well, if any of the guys read this site...hello to Gary Valentine and Art Hawley, whom I have known since my childhood.
I am a newly-hired operator at the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Mineral Wells, TX. I am attempting to find information on advances in the handling systems for wastewater. Mineral Wells operates both a standard Activated Sludge treatment plant, similar to yours, as well as a 'modern' single-tank batch reactor plant on the other side of town. I look foreward to corresponding to others in the industry.
I was wondering if you had any statistics on the amount of acid rain that Cortland receives. I'm working in the environmental health and safety department on Cortland campus, and I am currently working on a newsletter and would like to write about the acid rain levels in Cortland. Thank you...
I am CEO of a small company, Bio-Agronomics, L.L.C. that has a Patented process to render municipal or agricultural biosolids free of pathogens and odor within ~15 minutes per batch. The euqipment utilized is mobile and can thus serve Waste Water Treatment Plants or agricultural operations on site and then transport the unit to another site. I am seeking a listing of Waste Water Treatment Plants in New York State and would like toi know whether an association exists that might be able to provide this information.
What a wonderfully and expertly designed web page!!! Easy to navigate and extremely informational. Pat your designer on the back!
Best regards to Harvey Davis and Gary Conklin for what looks to be a very nice operation. Remember, guys, when it's time to consider repairing and hard chrome plating those rotors for your progressive cavity pumps, I'll do whatever it takes to make you happy. Bob.

I'm doing research on wastewater treatment plants and ran across your sight. I thought I'd drop in since I was born in Cortland forty-five years ago. Who says you can't go home anymore?! Thank you and God bless.

Great site...and instructive!
I think that it's nice to include your staff and the news of what you're up to...very thoughtful.
Great site! gave me some good ideas for creating a site for our plant. I am plant manager for the Jacksonville WWTP in Jacksonville Alabama. Our plant began life in 1955 and was upgraded in 1971 and 1993. Our plant process is Schreiber with U.V. dissenfection. I have seen many improvements to the treatment processes in my near three decades of being involved with wastewater treatment plants. Keep up the good work!
best regards!
Hi I am final year student, Civil Engineering degree, As part of my final year dissertation, I am conducting a comprehensive a study aiming to investigate the effect of manhole structure within an urban drainage system on the longitudinal dispersion of solute pollutants. The effects of benched manholes and unbenched manholes are also considered in this study. Does anybody out there have any information about the mathematical models, ADE or ADZ used to determine the the dispersion coefficient and other parameters needed to accurately model Hydraulically and physically the drainage network or any other modelling programme used by the industry. Please sent to me at: 1,Cranborne Drive, Darton, Barnsley,S75 5RZ,UK I will be extremely grateful. Thank you
This is a great advertisement
Wonderful site!! I am an environmental instructor, teaching, in part, water and wastewater treatment. The process explanation featured is extremely comprehensive, and is a wonderful overview of the treatment process, for both beginning and experienced operators. I hope you will not mind that I intend to utilize your process flow description in my classes. Thanks for being an inspiration and help to the WWT industry!

Saw your domain address on the sewer list. Site looked good. Following the pump discussion.
I just completed two graduate level wastewater treatment courses. Your web site gave a very nice description of the basic processes involved in water treatment.
You have a very well presented web site, and the treatment facility pictures are great. We are in Port Charlotte, Florida. The Charlotte County Utilities Department is a municipal utility operating three wastewater treatment facilities and one Leachate Treatment Plant located at the County's landfill. The 0.250 MGD landfill facility is a Zimpro (US Filter) Carbon Activated Chemical/Physical treatment system that is processed in a batch process. This facility is operated by our personnel for the Environmental Services Department, since we have the utilities department professionals. The largest of our wastewater treatment facilities is an 5.0 MGD Advanced Secondary Activated Sludge treatment process that produces reclaimed water for area golf courses and one mobile home community for their reuse on the golf courses and residential properties. We also operate a 0.385 MGD Complete Mix wastewater plant with onsite spray irrigation, percolation/evaporation ponds and a deepwell injection system. we operate a 0.50 MGD Extended Aeration Treatment Facility with reclaimed water that discharges to an area golf course on the beautiful Myakka River as a contract operations team. We are expanding our wastewater service area in a small program to bring in approxiamtely 3500 properties over the next three years to satisfy the Comprehensive Plan that has been adopted by the County and is pending approval by the State of Florida DCA Department. We would like to expand our utility customer base by aquiring several of the smaller private utilities surrounding our service area as well over the next five years. There are many growing pains in a community that has approximately 120,000 people located in the center of the county with sparatic utilities service in areas that also have well and septic systems that are rapidly becoming an environmental issue about polluting the pristeen waterways and our most protected water the "Charlotte Harbor" that is fed by the slow moving Peace River. Go to one of our local Internet Server's site to get a feel for our community located at: http://www.charlotte-florida.com While you are there, please visit the Government page then the BCC page, and you will see my sunset picture that I took for the County Administartor. Thanks for having a great place to allow me to write so much and enjoy the site that you have. You should be very proud of your site. my wife is a web page designer, and your site is a leader in presentation. Terry Briggs, Asstist to the Director
Visted your plant some years ago, I was very happy with what I was shown by a man named JOHN DeYOUNG. Very helpful and knew the working of the wastewater treatment plant. Lived in HOMER for 64 years. Thanks
I found your site very interesting. I plan to visit your site again
i'm impressed bruce. you did a great job. thanks for the pictures. bian
Hi Dad
A nicely organized and informative site. The only problems I had were with the "process" section. The lettering on the process diagram was very small on my computer screen. If I were not already familiar with the names of wastewater processes, I would have had a hard time figuring out what it said. Also, for the individual process photos, the title frame at the bottom was too small for the height of the letters. It might be better to include the information in the same frame with the photo. (It might look different on your computer.) All in all, I liked the site quite well, and I plant to link to it from my site at http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/5161
Thanks for signing in the Muska & Lipman Web site. I hope you enjoy the PSP book!

Nice site! Processes, equipment, etc. laid out real nicely.
I'd like to see more information about your facility. Processes used, flows, biosolids disposal, etc. Also, if you need a copy of my book, "Activated Sludge - Evaluating and Controlling Your Process", you can order it at my website (www.shopsalina.com/hobsonschoice) or send e-mail to me.
site looks good...an interactive tool to be used by communities thinking about "privatization" would be great...something that would allow them to make an initial assessment of whether private operations makes sense financially, legally, politically, etc....perhaps a brief questionnaire that generates some basic data that OYW can use to generate interaction with communities considering privatization
We are studying treatment plants, and wanted to know if you remove sewage from the water? Please send reply back by April 27 '98.If you can, please send us info in the mail. Send to Mrs. Cheney Grade 5 Brushton-Moira School Gale Rd. Brushton, NY 12916
Very informative, easy to follow concise explanations. This will be a big help for me when I take my B and A Wastewater exams (over a third of the test deals with what your webpage covered.) Thanks!!!
Excellent site! I only wish you had a description of the former physical/chemical process used at Cortland. Now *that* would be truly unique!
Bruce nice page. I'll call again soon. Sorry to have to cut the call short.
I am a student at Wentworth Institute of Technology I came across the site while using the web for research on my Water & Wastewater Treatment Final Exam Project. It is my obligation to design a ficticous treatment facility. I really am thankful for the information conveyed on your facility, and hope it will come in handy for the design of my own.
thanks,
wade
